Halifax Bruising Banditas at the Great Yorkshire Showdown

We are super excited to be playing in this year's Great Yorkshire Showdown tournament! The tournament is hosted by the Leeds Roller Dolls and features teams from across the north of the UK. This year there is even a team from Scotland making the trip to compete in the primo B-Team level competition in the country.

6 teams take part in the event. Divided into 2 groups, each team plays their group mates in half hour long bouts to decide the standings. At the end of group play the first place team in each group plays in the full length final bout to decide who emerges victorious in the Showdown.

This year the six teams are:

Halifax Bruising Banditas

Manchester Roller Derby - Furies

Hereford Roller Derby

Glasgow Roller Derby - Maiden Grrders

Hot Wheels Roller Derby - B-Team

and the hosts Leeds Roller Dolls - Whip Its

The Banditas have been placed in a group along side Glasgow Roller Derby and Hereford Roller Derby. Each team is closely ranked with Glasgow and Hereford slightly ahead of the the rest of us. We are so thrilled to have been drawn in a group with them. It will be a great test of the skill and training we've been focusing on in preparation for next year's British Champs competition. We know it'll be a hard day of pouting but we are keen to put our practice to the test and see how well we hold our own against the still competition.
