British Champs 2016 Round 5 - Halifax Bruising Banditas v Granite City Roller Derby

This is the last round of the 2016 Tier 4 North and proves to be an absolute corker! With this last game all the places will be decided along with who gets promoted and relegated. With the teams pace first and second playing each other and the teams placed third and fourth also facing each other it proves to be a thrilling day of roller derby.

Granite City sit at the top of the table with 9 points having won 3 out of their 3 games so far. Halifax Bruising Banditas and Spa Town Roller Girls have 6 points but the Banditas are in second place on points difference. Blackpool are currently sitting fourth on 3 points but a good win on game day could see them leap frog their way into the second place spot. It's all to play for!

This time last year we came away from the season having lost all 4 of our games. This year we are sitting in second place having only lost one game so far. The team has come on leaps and bounds, not only in skill and gameplay but in spirit also. We are together, we are determined and we love to play with each other. Whatever happens on Saturday we want to say thank you to our fans and supports who have helped us get this far this quickly. Thank you!

The first game of the day will see Granite City Roller Derby play Halifax Bruising Banditas. Both teams met last year in the Tier 3 relegation battle. Granite came out on top last time but with the top spot up for grabs the Banditas will be more than chomping a the bit to show them just how far we've come since last year.

The second game will see a real tussle between Spa Town Roller Girls and Blackpool Roller Derby League. Both teams are incredibly well matched and it promises to be a cracking game! If you can make it to Harrogate on Sunday we would love to see you there!
