LUM SINCE: March 2014
DERBY HIGH: Being asked to join the team was a massive honour, but in terms of games our win at the Humberstruck tournament last year. It was one of those days where everything came together, the team were amazingly calm throughout the day and I was super proud of the way everyone played. I still have my winners medal in pride place at home!
DERBY LOW: Probably the first time I lined-up for the team, I had a dreadful day outside Derby and felt so far out of my comfort zone not knowing the team as well as I do now. Luckily I'm a quick learner and the first proper bout I did went a hell of a lot smoother!
DERBY HERO: Ballistic Whistle and Buster Cheatin, both are amazing skaters but it's the work they do with London and Gotham respectively that I find so inspiring, and the utter devotion they have to their teams. I was lucky enough to attend a talk by Buster at the Gotham bootcamp last year, and have taken a lot of his info on board about how I look after the team both on game day and the day to day running of the league
ADVICE TO FRESHIES: Perseverance is the key to skating. The best players ain't always the ones that fly through mins, all the hard work is worth it when you finally graduate to the team.
